The "Cloudiness" Around Private Clouds: How Private is Private?
Sandhill.com
However, the notion of a Private Cloud took some collective beating (to put it mildly) in a recent webcast hosted by Appirio. Is a private cloud really a "fools" cloud -- simply a glorified term for datacenter virtualization? Will it be go the dinosaurs' way in a few years? Or is it here to stay just as the Enterprise Intranet has been hanging around for a long time alongside the Public Internet?

Migrating 6,000 users in 40+ countries from Lotus Notes/Domino to Google Apps

To help us get up to speed quickly and run the pilot smoothly, we partnered with Appirio Consulting. Appirio had previous experience converting large corporations from Lotus Notes/Domino to Google Apps. Appirio conducted one-on-one or small group training sessions for the pilot users and targeted training for the executive admins because of the complexity of their jobs when it comes to collaboration, email, and calendar management.

Social CRM – Is the Customer Finally In?

Narinder Singh, chief product officer for Appirio, sums up FB: "If there are 150 million people in a room, you should probably go to that room." To explain this point, imagine I am a Harry Potter fan and I have added "friends" in FB who share my interest in Harry Potter books. My "friends," who also belong to a wider group of children's book readers, link me to other members of this group, some of whom have "chucked" me some recommended books. ("Chucking" is basically an application that enables you to send names of books with online reviews, ratings, etc. to "friends".) I have now updated few "chucks" with the status "like to buy." Any marketer with access to this "social" data will not only be able to find out what I'm interested in buying now, but can also obtain information about other people in my network, i.e. my "friends" who have similar interests (prospects).

It's prediction season, and in order to come up with our own annual predictions for what CIOs should expect in cloud computing this year, we asked our feet on the street -- the Appirio team of nearly 200 cloud practitioners who are on the ground accelerating the adoption of cloud computing for hundreds of real-life customers.
