Deal Architect
I blogged recently about The Outsourcing Famine – little innovation in “business models and global delivery models and their partnering with interesting new technologies” with exceptions in firms like Cognizant and emerging ones like Appirio and Corefino...

Service providers look to play the cloud game

The Economic Times
Appirio, a specialist player who helps enterprises implement cloud-based solutions, was co-founded by Narinder Singh, who quit his position with enterprise software leader SAP to start the firm. “All our founders came from traditional enterprise software backgrounds from companies such as Borland, WebMethods, SAP and Accenture. Four years ago, we saw a shift happening in the marketplace and felt there was a need for a new type of partner to help enterprises move to the cloud. That’s why we founded Appirio,” said Balakrishna Narasimhan, senior director, marketing and strategy, Appirio.

Four New Cloud Computing Favorites

InformationWeek
Appirio has developed what it describes as "the world’s first social services-management application for the enterprise." The app, called Social PS Enterprise, is an implementation of Salesforce.com's new Chatter collaboration functionality, and it gives professional services teams a shot of social networking capabilities, such as real-time chat. It works with Appirio's Professional Services Enterprise (PS Enterprise), which is software as a service and based on Salesforce's Force.com.

How Chatter May Win the Enterprise 2.0 Game (Maybe Even CRM)

Customer Think
Once we get past the misunderstanding over price, the second issue was not knowing what “it can do”. I can see that as a more significant issue in the long run, and one that will be a barrier to adoption. While they showcased clients who are currently using it, these were the same ones I saw at Dreamforce (excellent implementations and both have matured some since then, Appirio showed their PSA and Vetrazzo showed how they run the entire company among others).

CA Wants to Be the Enterprise Watchdog in the Cloud

GigaOM
Appirio: Appirio would bring a much-needed services angle to CA’s cloud offerings. Managing and monitoring services and infrastructure is great, but helping customers transition to cloud computing and/or SaaS, even helping them develop new cloud-based applications, adds an incredible amount of value to any company serious about pushing cloud solutions. Appirio also offers Cloud Connectors, which bridge Salesforce.com applications with Google Apps, Amazon Web Services and/or Facebook. But the services business would be the real key if CA made this move.

The Outsourcing Famine
